Site Investigation

A comprehensive site investigation is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2007. The specific activities included in the site investigation scope of work are:

  • Conduct geophysical survey in former drum storage area Geophysical Survey Map
  • Advance four soil borings to an approximate depth of 45 feet to characterize the geology of the site GeoTech Boring Map
  • Advance 80 soil probes to a minimum depth of 10 feet to characterize the environmental impacts across the site Grid Map
  • Advance 36 soil probes to a minimum depth of 10 feet to characterize areas with previously identified impacts Target Area Probe Map
  • Excavate 44 test pits to various depths to confirm the presence, condition and location of sub-grade structures Test Pit Map
  • Advance 97 soil borings to various depths within or adjacent to former structures to identify environmental impacts associated with former structures Structure Boring Map
  • Sample four existing onsite groundwater monitoring wells
  • Conduct perimeter air monitoring
  • Submit soil and groundwater samples to a certified laboratory for analysis
  • Demobilize personnel and equipment from the site
  • Prepare a comprehensive site investigation report of findings
